Description
Your course-end research project is on either a law enforcement agency or a unit within a law enforcement agency. All aspects of the project require that you identify the function of police (law enforcement) in the criminal justice system and society as a whole; critiques police with regard to the nature of oppression and the impact of police on specific demographic groups; articulates interrelated structure of criminal justice system and police role therein; and identifies and evaluates ethical roles in policing.
The research paper itself covers these topics and others as you have drawn information from class and the text in addition to your research.
Your final research paper submission should be in APA format with cover page, eight or more pages of body text (a minimum of ten pages) with in-text citations to your references and research materials, and listing of references in APA format at the end of the paper. Assuming at least one page of references, cover page, abstract page, and eight pages of body text, your submission should be at least ten pages.
Grading Rubric: The rubric that you see attached to this assignment is the guideline for grading and provides the weight accorded to each subject area within the project. APA formatting, grammar, language use, concept integration, etc., are part of the grade but not reflected in the rubric. Mere mention or coverage of a topic does not earn all the points for the assignment.
If working as a group, only one member of the group needs to submit this assignment and all members of the group will receive credit.
