As new technology emerges every day, you never know when you are going to learn something new.

PEER POST # 1

Hello, class! I am very familiar with cloud-based environments from an educational standpoint, as well as professional. As a remote employee, cloud-based environments are the basis of keeping us connected to one another for important tasks, documents, etc. For instance, we are all given a work email that is accessed via Google. We also hold virtual meetings through Google meets. A separate cloud-based collaboration tool we use that some may be unaware of is an application called Slack. Slack integrates an AI “bot” to keep track of workflow processes, as well as alerting us when it is break time or when we need to hop offline to focus on other tasks (n.d). Our overall use of this app is for communication. Slack even utilizes different “channels” depending on the topic; for instance, we have a general channel, for general inquiries and concerns, as well as a channel for posting our shift hours worked. Being a remote employee, this collaboration tool is necessary for consistent communication with staff since none of us live near each other, but we must still work together to have tasks completed. I know this is cloud-based software due to only being able to utilize the services through an internet connection on any device. For example, I not only have Slack on my work laptop, but I also have the app on my phone in the event that team leaders need to communicate with me after hours. I have attached a link below for viewing the features that Slack has to offer.

PEER POST # 2

One cloud architecture that I use frequently is Google. I use Gmail as my primary email from a personal and professional perspective. I can distinguish Gmail using a cloud infrastructure because it has a software application layer that allows me to log in and access my email, whether from my phone, tablet, or laptop. Gmail is essential to my everyday structure and allows me to stay connected, whether responding to recruiters, potential employers, trainers, or professors. PlayStation Network where I download and play games such as Destiny 2, CyberPunk 2077, Call of Duty, and Apex Legends. I know that my PlayStation 4 uses cloud computing because I have my data set online via the cloud rather than locally on my PS4. Besides, multiplayer games have transitioned from a local perspective to a cloud perspective. There’s a software application used to log into a server that holds all of the gaming aspects to interact with other players virtually. The PS4 cloud is helpful to me personally because I have always viewed gaming and entertainment as an outlet for my emotions, and it allows me to connect with my friends during our busy lives.
