David
My name is David and I live in Northern VA (outside of Wash. D.C.). I made the decision to return to college after several years of working and building life skills. This real-world experience has given me a positive and unique perspective on finishing my degree and why its important to finish college. Unlike my younger years, when I did not apply myself to my studies, this later in life second chance has provided a new sense of purpose for me. I have enjoyed the classes I have taken since coming back to college and look forward to the remaining courses. For me, college is no longer a transactional experience, but rather a way of learning how to learn and listen. I am sure some of you can relate!
I am currently a Business major finishing up my AA this year and my BS degree next. For the last 20 years, have been working in the federal contracting arena as an HR & Talent Acquisition professional. Managerial Accounting plays a small role in my position now at work, so I hope to learn more about it and how I might be able to use it to help further my career in management, operations, or project management. There are many aspects of this course that I also hope to use in my personal life as well. My hope is to one day own a consulting business. The skills and knowledge I learn in this course will help me manage that business more effectively. Thank you!

Danyelle
Hello class,
My name is Danyelle I currently reside in Boston, Massachusetts my favorite color is black,I have also had the chance to live in two different states before making the decision to live in Boston. These states include Rhode Island and New Hampshire both states are on the east coast and relatively not too far from each other, so transportation was never looked at as upon an issue. As of right now I am currently majoring in business administration with a concentration in computer information systems. Additionally, I am a full-time employee working from home I also have a couple of hobbies I enjoy doing in my free time such as walks in the park. Along with boxing which I hope to resume when gyms finally re-open. I am the middle child of three other siblings. I have an older sister who is 24 years old and two younger brother who are 14 that are twins. Based on the courses background I am really hoping to gain more information regarding managerial accounting. I have taken a couple of courses regarding financing so I am hoping this will expand my knowledge even further within the field. I also hope to gain knowledge from not only my professor but also from my classmates as well in discussion posts. Basically, what I am trying to take away altogether from this course is not only 4 credits but to honestly grasp the concepts that will be taught throughout the course of managerial accounting.

Hello class,
I recently purchased a hydroponic tent from amazon to start my new hobby to grow vegetables and fruits, for those who may not know what a hydroponic tent is it is a tent that is in a climate-controlled area that is controlled by you, this tent is where you can practice growing plants using only water, nutrients, and a growing medium. Hydroponics have been around for some time dating back to gardens of Babylon and the floating gardens of China. This convenient way of growing plants all began when William Frederick Gericke began growing tomato plants, many did not see his vision until he grew a 25-foot tomato plant. This plant was cultivated only by using water and nutrients. So far, I recently have planted tomato’s nothing has grown, yet do it be very recent. Many hydroponic tents are equipped with bars, beams, and the outer shell being the tent. The exterior of a hydroponic tent consists of materials like weaved nylon and polyester these materials are thick making it durable to support the beams inside. Many companies use a reference ID when locating fabrics in this case the higher number the denser the fabric will overall be, in this case hydroponic tents look at the reference ID ranges of 200D- 1680D.Depending on the size of the hydroponic tent will reveal the costs of manufacturing. Typically, hydroponic tents start around $50 and go all the way up to $3,000 this is the general price range for tents depending on which company that company choose to acquire fabric and materials from. There are various manufacturing cost categories such as direct materials, direct labor, and factory overhead. As of right now the current cost for polyester fabric is $1 per pound but the price fluctuates back and forth and rises and falls daily.
