1. Find a book you want to create into a Feltboard/ Puppet Story that has content based on friendship or problem solving skills

2.. List title and author of the book or source of the story chosen for adaptation

3. Provide concepts the story could be utalized for:

3. Provide two language and literature learning objectives for this experience (remember: objectives are specific, observable, measurable; they should start with or have in it somewhere “children will”, ex. Children will say new vocabulary words, momentum and velocity, during circle time and/or investigavive activities.)

4. Provide a written out plan of how you will share this story with children…..

Include: where you will present the activity, how you will gather the children (ie. Attention grabber, gathering song, ….), how you will introduce the story,

Presenting the story, how will you transition the children out of the storytimeand into the next activity

** This is not a circle time activity it is an activity that you could pull out when you observe the need and can gather and present the story almost anywhere in the class environment.**

5. One follow up, cross- curriculum activity for this puppet/felt story. This could be a dramatic play idea, an art activity, a song, a science experience, or even another picture book. Be sure to include all necessary details about the follow up activity.

6. How would you adapt this experience for 1) a child who has limited sight and 2) a child with a high activity level who finds it challenging to sit still?

7. Cost Analysis: Construction and cost of materials, be specific and include details about directions, materials, sizes, extras that make your felt board or puppets and/or props.Provide a pattern if you can. It’s important to be descriptive about HOW you made your puppets or felt board. Your fellow students in the class will want to replicate your story figures!

Part 2- Reflection Write-up **to be done after you create the activity plan and you reflect on what you created. SUBMIT this part with the activity plan or as the response to the discussion post when you upload your activity plan.

1.What makes this book or storyappropriate for felt board or storytelling with puppets? How does your feltboard or puppet story enhance the emerging literacy of young children? This part of the write-up should be a thoughtful application of theory to practice. Be specific: incorporate the lecture material that highlighted the ingredients of quality literature and effective storytelling. Be sure to support your thoughts with evidenance from the text and lecture material

2. Reflect back on how you preformed/ presented the story with the props you created. What would you find as your strengths, what do you need to practice more, what were the challenges you came across and how did you handle them at that moment and after presenting do you still see this story as being adaptable into a felt board/ puppet story.
