Research Paper: The research paper will be on subject that relates to Risk Management Issues. Your paper will address one area of healthcare management of interest, and provide an in depth look at the inner workings and risk associated with in specific functions of an organization (i.e. Human resources, leadership, hospital/staffing within the facility, type of services delivered in-patient or out-patient facility, financing/funding, managed care, insurance, Veterans benefits, patient safety, ethics, patient quality of care, information technology or any other approved area of healthcare management).
The paper must address the following components:
a. Description of the problem or idea;
b. Background of the problem/idea;
c. Description of the risk management associated with the problem/idea;
d. Analysis of the risk management impact on health care delivery, access, financing, and quality with literature support;
e. Recommendations for resolving the risk management issue at hand, henceforth, solving the problem with literature support;

The typewritten Issue Paper is due on the date indicated on the syllabus (NOTE: late assignments will not receive full credit). The content of the paper should be a minimum of five pages (excluding title page and references), using APA format, with a minimum of 15 relevant references. The criteria for grading will be the students ability to demonstrate: (1) critical thinking, (2) precision in stating the topic, (3) originality, (4) breadth and depth of the subject, (5) grammar and (6) punctuation. The criteria for grading will be weighted as follows: 80% contents and 20% mechanics. Thisassignment will also include a class presentation, in which each student will provide an overview of his/her respectiveproject to the class for feedback. Other students are expected to provide constructive feedback to the presenter about her/his project.The credit will be based on both the submitted analysis and the actual case discussion in class.
