Community Agency Resource File (30points)

Create a Resource File of at least 10 Community Resources within a 20 mile radius of the city in Los Angeles, that could be shared with a parent in a time of need. You must include at least one the following types in your list:

• Early Intervention Services and Screening assessments: vision, hearing, speech or language, health
• Mental Health Counseling: sponsored by hospitals or clinics, crisis intervention or short-term services as well as psychological counseling
• Child Abuse prevention agencies
• Special Needs Programs: for children and families with physical disabilities or learning disabilities.
• Low cost Legal Help/ hotline for Crisis Intervention
• Year- round publicly sponsored educational opportunities for children
• Childcare Resource and Referral Agency
• Low Cost Food or Food Banks

For each resource, include the following information:

Visit one of the Community Agencies and write a descriptive paragraph about what you found there. How helpful were the staff in getting you help? Imagine if you were a parent in a desperate need, how would you feel about your visit?
