Description

Choose ONE of the following two options:

1. Using the texts “Pathologies of Hope” and “A Case for a Tragic Optimism,” construct a rhetorical analysis of which author (Ehrenreich or Frankl) makes the stronger argument. (articles are provided in the files part)

Note: Please do not summarize the essays; I have read them. Instead, focus on rhetorical analysis with the goal to convince me of which essay’s argument is more convincing.

2. Barbara Ehrenreich describes the “Cult of Positivity” and its effects in “Pathologies of Hope.” However, her article is a bit outdated—using specific examples, argue whether our culture has stuck with or shifted away from the “Cult of Positivity.”

Note: You may want to focus on a particular cultural realm, such as social media or politics.

ESSAY MUST BE 3-4 PAGES IN MLA FORMAT, SAVED AS .DOC, .DOCX, or PDF

(3 pages means the text hits the very bottom of page 3, with 1-inch margins)

If you include quotes from our articles, the paper must be followed by a Works Cited page in MLA format. This does NOT count toward the 3-page minimum.
