¡In this assignment, you will write an essay that examines the rise of one of the Jihadist networks to include: ISIS, Boko Haram, and Al Qaeda. You will research that groups background, recruitment tactics, and targets. Additionally, you will reflect on one recent attack from the past 5 years from your selected group.
Answer the following questions in your essay.
- What is a Jihadist network?
- Where does your selected group primarily operate? (Cite specific geographic locations such as country, region, and/or province.)
- What are the psychological and primary motivators for your selected group?
- What are the psychological and primary motivators for your selected group, and what sociological impacts exist?
- What are the organizations targets? How are they chosen?
- What has the United Nations (UN) done to counter the terrorist organization? Are these efforts effective?
Your completed essay should be a minimum of two pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages. You are required to use at least one outside source. All sources used, including the textbook, must be cited and referenced according to APA guidelines.
Instructions
In this assignment, you will use Microsoft PowerPoint to create a detailed presentation with a minimum of 10 slides on the impact that the Soviet Union had on global terrorism until its fall in 1991. Include the war between the Soviet Union and Afghanistan within your presentation.
Secondly, you will also be required to discuss the change in global terrorism in modern-day Russia from 1991 to today. Include the current terrorist groups that target Russia as well as what led to their creation.
Please be sure to add notes and commentary on each slide of your presentation. Your submission should also include photographs, graphs, charts, data analytics, and examples of terrorist attacks within the borders of Russia.
You are required to use at least your textbook and two outside scholarly or government sources. All sources used, including the textbook, must be cited and referenced according to APA guidelines.

In Unit II, you created a research paper outline on the recruitment and radicalization process of lone wolf terrorists in the domestic United States and abroad. You had your specific terrorist incident and topic approved by your instructor. Later, in Unit VII, you will be asked to submit your final research paper. For this assignment, you will write an annotated bibliography to further prepare you for your research paper.
Identify six scholarly sources from the CSU Online Library and other reliable sources that support your research paper topic and paper. Include a summary (150200 words) for each reference that will cover the material related to the research paper criteria. As you locate your sources, consider how you will use them in your research paper.
The annotated bibliography identifies the reference, description, and how it pertains to the research paper. Also, in your annotated bibliography, you should provide a brief description that explains why you believe the selected incident will serve as a good basis for evaluating the recruitment and radicalization process for terrorists as it relates to domestic and international terrorism.
