information technology capstone Colorado State University:  Global Campus Using artificial intelligence in an organization

For this course, you will research the implementation of an information technology system and prepare a comprehensive, final Capstone paper of your findings. You will research a real company, identify a business problem that can be solved with a new information technology system, propose the use of a new system for the business, establish a business case for the change, and justify the implementation of the new system based on your research.

You will develop your project throughout the course through the following Capstone Milestone submissions:

  • Topic Approval (due in Module 1) : – Using artificial intelligence in an organization
  • Proposal (due in Module 2) : – For this module’s milestone, research the company you have selected in more depth and identify the business problem that the new information system will address. Your submission must include:
    • An introduction to your topic (refined from Module 1 based on instructor feedback),
    • Background information about the company,
    • A description of the type of business the company is in, and
    • A description of the information system that is going to solve the business problem.
    • Your Module 2 Milestone should be two to three pages in length and Include at least three scholarly references in addition to the course textbooks. The CSU Global Library is a good place to find these references.
  • Business Case (due in Module 4) : – For this week’s milestone, you will create a detailed business case for the new information technology system. The submission, at a minimum, must include the following:
    • Executive Summary
    • Financial Requirements
    • Project Definition
    • Project Organization
    • Management of the Project
    • Your Module 4 Milestone should be three to five pages in length.
  • New System (due in Module 6) : – For this module’s milestone, document the implementation of the new system you are proposing for the business. At a minimum, your proposal should include the following:
    • The solution chosen and its justification based on the requirements
    • Legal and ethical considerations
    • Implementation risks
    • Testing
    • Functional and business ownership
    • Post-implementation tasks and support
    • Documentation
    • Your Module 6 Milestone should be four to five pages in length
  • Final Capstone Project (due in Module 8)

Be sure to carefully review the submission requirements for each milestone in the module in which it is assigned. While each Capstone Milestone will be worth points, the final submission due in Module 8 will be a compilation of the all the submissions from Modules 2-6 and will constitute a significant percentage of the course point total.

Final Capstone Project Submission ( Module 8)

In this module you will finalize your project, integrate the feedback provided by your instructor in previous modules, and incorporate ethical and legal standards as well as implementation tasks. Be sure to include an introduction and a conclusion for your final submission.

Your final Capstone Project should be 10-15 pages in length and conform to CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.). Organize your project with headings for each of the required sections – Proposal, Business Case, New System, Ethical and Legal Standards, and implementation Tasks — and include subheadings for each section as appropriate. Support the project with at least seven scholarly references in addition to the course textbooks.
