ASSIGNMENT
The purpose of this speech is to inform your audience about something that is important to OR of interest to your audience. Your topic should be as specific as possible and narrow enough so that it can be discussed in 5-7 minutes
Some limitations on the topics include:
- nothing illegal, immoral, or unethical
- no overly religious topics (i.e. discussing the superior nature of one religion over another)
- no highly controversial or emotional topics such as abortion
- no guns or other live ammunition
- no alcohol.
- No vague health topics
- No cliché or high school topic
REQUIREMENTS
- Your speech must be 5-7 minutes in length. A speech shorter than 5 minutes will not fulfill the assignment,
- A typed, Key Phrase Outline and APA Reference page must be printed and handed to me prior to speaking.
- Not having a reference page brings your grade down 20 points automatically.
- You need a minimum of 3 sources no more than 1 can be web sites (Wikipedia, Dictionaries, and encyclopedias are not sources) Having additional sources is recommended to strengthen your speech.
- You must have a minimum of 3 ORAL CITATIONS (meaning you will verbally cite each source no less than 1 time) so you do not get marked for plagiarism
- You may use no more than 5 note cards that have phrases (key word/phrase outline) I can see how many you are using in a video. EXTEMORANEOUS MEANS NO READING
- You must have at least two presentation aids to support your presentation.
