Part 1:Addiction & Obsession:
Each student will select a Celebrity of
their own choosing who has had an addiction problem whether alcohol/drug or other addictions/obsessions such as gambling, eating, dieting, shopping, sex etc. Students are to read about and research the addiction of their celebrity and how it has affected the celebritys biological/psychological/sociological life. You will also provide a race, class and gender analysis of the case, and discuss addiction treatments/approaches that were undertaken, or suggest possible strength-based treatments and harm reduction approaches that they could have taken. Summarize all of this in a 3 to 4 page double spaced paper. Select appropriate works (at least 3 articles, books, etc) to describe, discuss your celebritys addiction.

– At least 3 – 4 pages (excluding the cover and reference pages)
– 12 font , double spaced
– With proper bibliography and citations in APA style

Alcohol Anonymous (AA) is viewed by some as a “narrative and reflective community”. It has been hailed as best practice and supported by the government. Yet, it has also been critiqued for poor success rates and its promotion of God and religious views.

Part 2: How are digital communication devices (cell phones, e-mail, and websites) affecting the communication process? Describe both the advantages and the disadvantages of these three devices over traditional communication methods, such as face-to-face conversations, written notes, and phone calls.
